Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a musical family on 9 August 1963. She was born in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel star Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. and cousin of singer Dionne Warwick. When she was a little girl, Houston began performing professionally in her church's choir. She sang backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's song from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. She then went on to join the backing vocals of Jermaine, Lou Rawls, and even her mother. The singer was first a featured vocalist for the New York-based New York Funk band Material. The quality of her vocal work attracted attention from major record label Arista which she joined in 1983. Whitney Houston was her debut album. Although the film and her performance on screen were not widely praised the soundtrack album and her cover of the Dolly Parton song I Will Always Love You was the top of the singles and albums charts for months, and was sold at 44 million copies around the globe. The daughter of her mother Bobbi was born in March in 1993. This was the year she got married to Bobby Brown. In 1996, her use of drugs was documented.
Dana Bash, also known by the name Dana Ruth Schwartz, is an American journalist and anchorwoman who is a correspondent for politics for CNN. She has been the producer of shows on CNN, including Evans & Novak' Late Edition' and Inside Politics'.
