Aaliyah Haughton made headlines after 1994 when she debuted her first album Age Ain't nothing but the number. At the time, she was just 15 years old. the time and the album was later renamed Gold. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which brought her into the spotlight. In 1996, she teamed up with Jermaine Dpri and Timbaland for her second studio album One In A Million, that included the top-selling song If Your Girl only knew. Aaliyah received international recognition for her R&B singing through the release of this album. She was a part of martial arts legend Jet Li in 2000's romance-action film Romeo Must Die. She is a first-generation Indian-American who was born in Connecticut. The stage name Mann comes from her married name Mankad. Mann utilizes Aarti Man and Aarti Mahumdar for her stage name. While she started out with minor film and TV parts, her acting career began becoming more popular in the mid 2000s. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy and Grey's Anatomy. She also appeared in several commercials including Volvo as well as other major auto companies. She lives in Los Angeles along with her husband, daughter and pursues her acting career.
